Board Meeting (13): Question six for Evaluation
What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product?
- Strengths and weaknesses of the camera equipment
Strengths:
>> small so it was easy to film more difficult shots from small spots
>> screen moves / rotates so that you can still see what is being filmed even if it's flush against the ground
>> produces good quality footage
Weaknesses:
>> ran out of memory quickly
>> ran out of battery quickly
>> poor recording quality with sound - had to be recorded on an iPhone
- Talk about the filming process, any problems you faced and did you resolve them?
> forgot to film Emma screaming so we recorded it at a later date so it turned out better
>timetable so we knew what was what
> filmed over the course of a week including re-filming and extra footage
> it did have to be arranged for a time that the actors could film so sometimes a few shots would be rather last minute
> filmed it in a different order to save time
- Did you get to use new equipment?
> yes > we used a tripod for a few shots to test the steadier shooting but inevitably didn't use them
- Editing software used. What have you learnt about editing, were there particular effects that you found useful for creating a sense of mise-en-scene?
> Sony Vegas Pro 13
> cutting rate is more important than effects
> change of lighting for certain shots
>blur effect and merge effect
> Sony Vegas Pro 13 also used to create the soundtrack for our opening
