Extra Filming: The Train Station

On the 28th February, we went to Newport train station so that we could get some clips of a train rushing past the camera, as well as sound clips that we could use in our thriller opening.

We filmed using two devices so that we could get at least two different shots for each train that went past. For example, we stood back-to-back whilst filming in order to get two shots - one of the train coming towards the camera and one of it moving away from the camera. These shots could then be edited together to create a match-on-action shot.

We filmed a range of different clips - wide shots of the whole station, close-ups of the trains' wheels, and even a birds-eye-view shot, looking down from the bridge.
