Outlining our Alternative Idea

- Josh is mentally ill so takes counselling sessions that then increase in frequency after Emma's death (suicide / murder)

- Starts at Josh's councillors talking about Emma's death

- Admits that he's fine but in reality is obsessive over her death making him traumatised

- See flashes of the death + the note she left = looks like murder but feels off

- Focus on a newspaper in his bag depicting a headline of her death

- Having nightmares of it but doesn't tell people so he can try to solve her 'murder'

- Tells councillor about the recurring dream and she brushes it off as just a dream as she is unaware that it actually happened

FLASHBACK

- Comes home from work early to find a letter from his girlfriend Emma essentially saying goodbye

- Runs to her house and catches her on the brink of death

- She panics and wonders why he's there as he's not meant to see it

- Crying / freaking out over her dying

- Emma in her last moments decides she doesn't want this but it's too late so Josh assumes that once again she was forcibly killed instead of suicide

- Josh overly grief stricken

- Lying next to her lifeless body and falling out of consciousness

- Sees a knife on the floor and a blurred pair of feet behind it and Josh jumps to conclusions that she was murdered but instead it was just Emma's mum coming to see what was happening
